Antivirus Security Test Review 2011

AV-Test released the first quarter report for this year that is dedicated to evaluating 22 security products
The tests were performed on a Windows 7 32-bit platform and looked for protection against 0-day malware attacks, the capacity of the software tested to block new malware using dynamic detection, and checking whether the security products are able to detect widespread malware.

Testing the protection may not be completed without checking the software repairing capabilities, as some security products after cleaning your machine may leave your computer unbootable, so it will be important to see after the infection that your computer gets back to productivity without any troubles.
Usability is as important as the protection capabilities because you will not install a security product and keep looking at the screen while the computer is freezing, so testing the product memory usage is part of the system availability.

On the Cleaning & repairing infected computers, there are no Excellent product but the top 3 positions are:

2. F-Secure: Internet Security 2011, Kaspersky: Internet Security 2011, PC Tools: Internet Security 2011.
